"Thank goodness I found Beth and Garden Genesis. Her design skills and plant knowledge plus her enthusiasm for her work are remarkable." – Martha Leath
The full process is described below, and is what I provide for most of my clients. I am also available for consultation only, for custom maintenance schedules on existing landscapes, and for design to a rough stage (see Concept Plan), where you would in effect finish the research and the design yourself.
Initial Consultation:
I will meet with you (and any other interested parties) at your
home, going through my questionnaire to determine what you
want, need and like, and taking notes and photographs. This visit
usually takes one to two hours.
Proposal Letter:
Within a few days of the initial consultation, I will send a letter of
proposal for the design work we’ve discussed, giving a firm figure.
Once you have accepted the proposal, signed and returned the
letter, I can begin design work.
Concept Plan:
Your site will be drafted on computer to scale, with features and planting areas roughed in. To keep on track with designing to your preferences, we will meet again to discuss the general layout and ideas, then during this visit we’ll proceed to specifics – photos of the plants
and other materials to be used. This is when I truly learn your taste and the functions you want your landscape to fulfill.
Preliminary Design:
This is a much more detailed computer rendering with all
elements to scale. I’ll meet with you again to discuss and confirm all the particulars. Minor changes are still quite easy at this stage.
"Plan and plant for a better world."
– J.C. Raulston
Final Plan:
Scaled plan with plant list, mailed to you, once you’ve approved the Preliminary Design.
Estimates:
Once design work is finished, I can provide you with cost estimates for plants, design layout, installation, irrigation, and hardscaping.
Design Layout:
At installation, I deliver plants and place them according to the design.
Custom Maintenance Schedules:
If desired, I can produce a customized year-round maintenance schedule for your design.
